Dr. Sean Bretschneider and Dr. Keri Swanson (married couple). We both received bachelor degrees from Oregon State University and graduated from OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and 1999 respectively. We met in Veterinary School over a romantic brightly lit cat spay. Things progressed from there. Over the course of a couple of internships and various jobs we were drawn to the Springfield/ Eugene area. We were fortunate enough to find good jobs at West Eugene Animal Hospital and Westmoreland Animal Hospital. Before long we started raising a family. We now have 4 wonderful children, along with 1 dog and 3 cats. In 2004 we were fortunate enough to meet Dr. Mullarkey and his wife Elizabeth. Through a series of legal documents and handshakes we became the owners of Q Street Animal Hospital. Our experience over the years has given us a tremendous background both with medical and surgical skills as well as business management styles. It has been very exciting to compile all of our knowledge and experience to develop protocols and practices that we feel best help our patients and their families.

Jessica Hoerauf DVM

  • Graduate Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine 2005
  • Bachelor of Science Oregon State University 2001

Jessica grew up in the Lebanon/ Sweet Home area. She has enjoyed family cats, dogs, horses, chickens, etc from a very young age. She worked at a veterinary clinic in Lebanon while in High School, continued to work there on and off through college and veterinary school, after school she worked there for four years as an associate veterinarian. Keri and I met Jessica and were impressed with her veterinary background, commitment to high standards, and pleasant personality. We are pleased to be working with Jessica. Besides working as a veterinarian, she is married and has many pets of her own, including a couple of horses. We are happy to say that we've been working together now for over 6 years.

Beth is our practice manager. We are fortunate to have someone like her, she has a great background. She owned a couple of businesses and worked as a practice manager in a large veterinary clinic in Colorado before moving to Oregon. She enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering, and the performing arts. Some of her accomplishments included; starting a charter school in Southwest Colorado, developing a cycling program for children with the local Sheriff Dept. and DARE program, founding a mountain bike point series in the Four Corners area. As well as, training a team of athletes to compete in a world class Eco-Challenge. Beth has been a critical part of the clinic for over 8 years now. She's also been involved with a number of pet rescue groups in the community.

Demi, CVT

Demi has worked for many years as an animal nurse and a certified technician. She is a tremendous resource of knowledge having had many years of experience in the veterinary field. Demi is a hard worker and is often one of the first staff to arrive and last to leave. She has many pets of her own. On days off she enjoys having coffee with her friends and spending time with her family. Demi has a very gentle and compassionate way with our clients and patients. We are very glad to have her as part of our team.

Kristina has been a part of the Q Street Team for many years, over 8 years. She has seen us grow and evolve, her hard work and professionalism have been a wonderful help. Her primary focus these days is in furthering her education. We are happy to have her still working with us on a part time basis.

Kerri, CVT

Kerri is a CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician). She has a great deal of experience and is a lot of fun to work with. Dr. B and Kerri worked together 10 + years ago and re-connected recently. We seem to be getting busier and busier on surgery days, so we were looking for help right when Kerri happened to come along and it has been a perfect fit! Kerri is also active with family life in the community, you may see her not only at the clinic - but at volleyball games, ice skating events, horse competitions, etc.

Autumn also has been working with us for a long time. She joined us having no experience in the field. Over the years she has become very capable, efficient, and knowledgeable. She has now cut back to a part time basis to have more time for family and studies.

Christy has worked in the veterinary field for numerous years. Having worked at clinics in Eugene and Portland. We are lucky to have someone step right in with such a solid knowledge base and that is easy to work with. Christy also has numerous pets of her own and has worked with rescue groups in the past. She stays busy with family life as well and is active doing camping, horseback riding, surfing - you name it!

Mark moved to the area from the East Coast. He is a student at Lane Community College with a background in horticulture. He has been a great addition to our group, having a quiet and steady work ethic. He loves the animals and is exploring whether this is a future career path. Mark also volunteers at The Raptor Center and works part time at Lane Community College gardens. He stays very busy, but you would never know it by his calm demeanor (which the patients really seem to appreciate).

Elizabeth is a wonderful and caring part of our team. Prior to joining us she worked in the human medical field as a licensed CNA. Caring specifically for elderly patients. She is now pursuing certification as a veterinary assistant through Ashworth College. Elizabeth has numerous pets of her own including 2 Bearded Dragons, 3 cats, 3 ferrets, and a dog.

Clarissa is a kind and compassionate individual that we are pleased to have as part of our team. She lends a joyful enthusiasm to us all. She too is pursuing further education in the veterinary field. Prior to working here, Clarissa worked with Court Sports. She also has pets of her own including a newly adopted rescue dog, 'Chappy'.

Megan is a certified veterinary assistant. She is very compassionate and thorough. Megan does a great job of fostering a team environment. She joined us with a great deal of knowledge and continues to learn and develop her skills. In the past Megan worked with the Oregon Family Support Network watching over special needs children. Currently Megan has 1 dog, 2 cats, and 4 snakes.

Cassidy is a certified veterinary technician. She has worked in the field for a number of years. Her family and pets keep her busy, fortunately she's able to find a balance and be a part of our team on a part time basis. Cassidy is very capable, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.

Amy joined our team recently. She had been working at a busy veterinary clinic in Portland but decided she was ready to move back to her home town. Amy has jumped in and been a tremendous help. Very capable and always kind and compassionate. She has numerous pets of her own that keep her busy. Plus she is taking quite a few hours of college credits through Oregon State University (my alma mater and clearly the "coolest" of universities).
