Dr. Sean Bretschneider and Dr. Keri Swanson
Dr. B and Dr. Keri (as they are affectionately known by clients and team members) are a married couple and clinic owners. We both received bachelor degrees from Oregon State University and graduated from the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and 1999 respectively. We met in Veterinary School over a romantic brightly lit cat spay. Over the course of a couple of internships and various jobs, we were ready to move back to the Northwest. We were drawn to the Springfield/Eugene area and have been here since 2000. We love it here, and now have 4 wonderful children that keep us very busy with soccer, basketball, rowing, hiking, biking and all of the other activities that we do together as a family. ln 2004, we were fortunate enough to meet Dr. Larry Mullarkey and his wife, Elizabeth. Through a lengthy series of legal documents and handshakes, we became the proud owners of Q Street Animal Hospital. It has been very exciting to combine all of our knowledge and experience to develop a practice that we feel best helps our patients and their families.

Jessica Hoerauf
- Graduate of Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine 2005
- Bachelor of Science Oregon State University 2001
Dr. Jessica Hoerauf
Dr. Jess (as she is affectionately known) grew up in the Lebanon/Sweet Home area. She worked in a veterinary clinic while in high school and continued to work there off and on all the way through college and veterinary school. Once she graduated, she continued to work at this clinic until she joined the Q Street team. We met Dr. Jess and were impressed with her veterinary background, commitment to high standards, and pleasant personality. She is a capable, compassionate, and wonderful doctor. Her areas of special interest are Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, and Soft Tissue Surgery. When she is not working, she enjoys her family and all of her animals, complete from horses to chickens.

Phoebe Cone
- Graduate of Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine 2019
- Bachelor of Science University of Oregon 2013
Dr. Phoebe Cone
Dr. Phoebe was born and grew up here in the Eugene/ Springfield area. Growing up with dogs, cats, and horses sparked her interest in the field. She started volunteering with Willamette Animal Guild (WAG) where she had the opportunity to help with the treatment of many pets. One of the biggest pet problems in communities across the world is pet over-population. WAG has made a big impact in reducing that problem here in Lane County. Needless to say, Dr. Phoebe has a passion for shelter medicine. Other areas of special interest are soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, and nutrition. On a more personal note, in her spare time, she enjoys cooking, writing freelance for blogs and online magazines, and spending time with family. With her husband, they have the pleasure of sharing their home with three long-haired cats (cute and very spoiled cats!). Dr. Phoebe is skilled in surgery and medicine. She has been compassionate and empathetic in treating patients and talking with clients. We are very pleased that she is a part of our team.
Our Staff
Michelle, Practice Manager
Michelle joined our team as a Customer Service Representative after being a client at the clinic with her two wonderful kitties. She said yes and we said yes (not to get too corny), and it has been a match made in heaven since then. In the past, Michelle has been a restaurant supervisor, and worked in retail; so she brings great customer service skills to our clinic. She is very sweet and compassionate, and goes out of her way to help our clients and patients.
Kerri, Lead CVT
Kerri has a great deal of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician, so we are very lucky to have her on our team. She is very active with her family in the community. Kerri and her husband have two daughters that are all grown up and now in college, but are still involved in many activities nearby such as ice skating, and equestrian events. She also has numerous animals- including dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. This all keeps her very busy.
Shanah, CVT
Shanah has a strong passion for pets and their families. She and her husband have two daughters and enjoy pets of their own as well as camping, fishing, and just enjoying Oregon! She worked at The Ark Veterinary Clinic for years- then went into human medicine. We are glad to have her back in the veterinary field with us as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Laura, CVT/CSR
Laura is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She worked here years ago and helped us to develop many of our early surgical and hospitalized patient protocols. Laura then had the opportunity to work with the Eugene City Spay and Neuter Clinic and helped them reform and improve. We are glad to once again have her working with us as both a technician and Customer Service Representative. Of course, she has pets of her own — two orange cats (she has a soft spot for — and her husband likes them too).
Mary Jane, Head CSR
Mary Jane (or MJ) has a lot of experience with clients, and always has the animal’s best interests at heart. When she is not working, she spends her time with her husband, and three boys who are all fully grown and onto their next big adventure. Mary Jane also enjoys pet sitting, and has several cats and dogs of her own that keep her company as well.
Megan, Vet Assistant
Megan started her exciting career in the veterinary field after earning a degree in veterinary assistance from Ashworth College. From 2014 until now she has dedicated a lot of her time to client education, continued education, and last but not least, patient care. She is currently attending Penn Foster to earn her Associate’s degree in veterinary technology. Megan spends the rest of her time with her husband, and quite a few pets.
Kristine, Vet Assistant
Kristine works with us on Saturdays. She has another full-time job, goes to school, and manages to raise a family. Kristine also has many animals that she cares for including dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. She’s adequately skilled having worked as a technician at other clinics in the past, so we’re very grateful to have her with us.
Malena, Vet Assistant
Malena joined us after having some experience with animals working at Pet Smart, and taking classes to become a dog trainer. She’s a very kind person, and always does her best taking care of the animals while perfecting her skills. Malena has a Poodle Mix that’s attached to her hip outside of work, and a long-haired Dalmation puppy.
Amy, CSR
Amy is a very skilled technician having worked on all kinds of animals at other vet hospitals in the area, so we were very fortunate to be able to add her to our team. She primarily works with us as a Customer Service Representative, but also assists our back staff when needed. Amy shares her home with her boyfriend and bunny rabbit.
Tailynn, Vet Assistant
Tailynn came to us having just worked at Dutch Bros. She also has various other customer service experience, so she gets along very well with our clients. She hadn’t worked in the animal industry before coming to us, but is enjoying learning something new every day.
